Course Descriptions
Audio/Video Production
(One to Two Credits) Careers in audio and video technology and film production span all aspects of the audio/video communications industry. Within this context, in addition to developing technical knowledge and skills needed for success in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career cluster, students will be expected to develop an understanding of the industry with a focus on pre-production, production, and post-production audio and video activities. This course is recommended for students in Grades 10-12. Recommended Prerequisite: Principles of Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications. |
Animation
(One to Two Credits) Careers in animation span all aspects of motion graphics. Within this context, in addition to developing technical knowledge and skills needed for success in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career cluster, students will be expected to develop an understanding of the history and techniques of the animation industry. This course is recommended for students in Grades 10-12. Recommended prerequisite: Graphic Design and Illustration or Art |
Advanced Animation
(Two to Three Credits) Careers in animation span all aspects of motion graphics. Within this context, in addition to developing advanced knowledge and skills needed for success in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career cluster, students will be expected to create two- and three-dimensional animations. The instruction also assists students seeking careers in the animation industry. This course is recommended for students in Grades 11-12. Prerequisite: Animation. |

Students are given ample time to complete video projects and they must be turned in by the DEADLINE. If you know you are going to be absent, please make arrangements to turn in your project early. Late Submissions will receive a deduction of 20 points per week late

Student Attendance
Attendance in this class is VITAL. Students will be working in a real world simulation on production teams where each person has a job to do. If you know you are going to miss class time, it is your job to make sure your group is aware of the absence and also your responsibility to make sure you complete your portion of the teamwork. Being on time is important as well, we will work on research, writing, and other activities every day in class and if you are late, you will be missing work and effecting your grade.
If a student is absent, he or she must check the website to set what was missed. Then he or she must get with the teacher to schedule a time for makeup lessons, tests, etc.
